THE SOUBRETTES
Cabaret Tingel-Tangel returns cabaret to its wicked Berlin and Le Chat Noir roots.
The Soubrettes are the very talented Tania Kyriakou and Alice Carter. They
have wowed audiences in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom with their witty and irreverent musical cabaret. With a wink and tongue firmly planted in cheek they take a very personal look at sexual politics, drugs, poverty, stalking, oral sex, and hair.
Dressed in little more than cheeky corsets and stripey stockings The Soubrettes amuse entertain, shock and provoke with their politically incorrect compositions covering a broad range of musical styles including 1950s doo-wop - Drug Addict (as heard on Triple J); mock operetta Poverty, hilarious pop send up I Don't Know What to do with my Hair, and jazz love song You'll Do.
Not only are they hilarious comediennes but they are fabulous singers skipping through musical song and dance numbers with abundant energy and charisma whipping the audience into a frenzy.
‘The original songs and lyrics are incisive and piercingly acerbic. Brimming with musical intelligence and invention… this sparkling cabaret is not to be missed.’ Herald Sun
The Soubrettes and their songs are just brilliant. If you want to be part of a naughty, intelligent and very very funny show - do not miss this night.
