IGOR OSKOLKOV
Violin, piano, trombone
Igor Oskolkov had a distinguished music career in Moscow.
Following his graduation from Moscow Conservatorium in violin, piano and
composition, Igor worked as a composer and arranger in the Russian Film
and Television Industry. Although his first love is jazz, he also is a
classical musician.
During the ' 80s Igor had his own 12 piece jazz band "Metronom"
in Moscow, not unlike the legendary band "Wether Report" in
style.
Since arriving in Australia, he has collaborated with many
of Melbourne's leading jazz musicians including Marc Fitzgibbon, Joe Chindamo,
Phillip Rex and Doug de Vries. Igor has been an integral member of various
bands such as HOT CAFE, GYPSY FINGERS, THE HOT CLUB QUARTET & QUINTET,
CONCERTINO TRIO, GYPSY SWING
Igor is well known as a virtuoso jazz violinist - he composes
and arranges his own music, creating unique arrangements for bands. Igor
has participated in Melbourne International Jazz Festival as well as in
, Thredbo, Geelong, Wangaratta and Bowral Jazz festivals.
